Free Dog Kennel Plans For Large Dogs - Pay Close Attention to This!

The expense of having a large dog in the house is probably why you want to get some free plans to make a kennel for it, right? I can understand why you wouldn't want to spend even more money than you already have, but trust me, if your building a DIY dog kennel, skimping on the quality of the plans you follow is not going to be a good idea, and free dog kennel plans...well, they don't exactly have that quality you need.

Keep in mind that if your dog doesn't like your kennel, the big mutt is just going to head back inside the house. And while a set of guidelines might look they'll give you a decent quality kennel at the end, that doesn't mean it's going to be a particularly nice kennel.

For example, some plans might give you instructions for building a doghouse that looks suitable, but in reailty, your dog wants more room than that! Just like a member of your family, if they've got a room they hate, well, they're not going to spend much time in it...

But there's also the other end of the size spectrum to worry about.

The larger the kennel is, the colder it is going to be. A smaller doghouse will retain your pet's body heat better, but as we know, too small and its less a doghouse and more a claustrophobic prison cell. And on top of all that, you need to make sure you treat the wood with the right stuff. Some pressure treated lumber is injected with chemicals stop rot and insect damage. How?

By killing the instruder! And the same thing could happen to your pet dog too. Which means you need to be ultra careful with the type of wood and treatment or paint you end up using.

And why would someone spend the time and effort to do all that, and then give them away as free dog kennel plans? Doesn't make any sense. And even if you did decide to take a look at the free versions, you'd have to take the time to double-check all the information in it yourself...defeating the purpose of getting large doghouse plans in the first place!

It's easy to see you would never be truly comfortable trusting a set of free blueprints, forever second-guessing it, and looking over everything a million times again and again, just in case.
